It is only understandable therefore that you may come to expect an effective treatment to be quite physical and that it may require you to undergo some pummeling!
But what if it doesn't?
it's like flying a kite
I made a short video on Salthouses Beach in Norfolk on a windy New Years Eve day to try to help to explain this. Sadly, the gusts totally obscure my commentary (you may want to turn down your volume!), but have a watch and I will explain why Amatsu is like flying a kite!
Strange hey? Well not really.
As you can hopefully see from the video, it only takes very subtle movement of my hands to influence the kite quite a lot. I can actually just tweak my fingers and the kite will fly from right to left all the way up in the sky, miles away from my actual hands. If I start to exaggerate the movement even slightly by pulling gently backwards, the kite will veer wildly.
it's the same in the body
In Amatsu, we believe that our body knows how to heal - it just needs some help sometimes. This means that we don't need a great deal of force to influence or control, we just need to understand that everything is connected and find the right area or points to work. Once we have completed our thorough detective work and we have figured out which muscles, ligaments or bones need attention, we only need to use a relatively light touch to make significant changes and to set the body back on the right track.
It's not to say that Amatsu is never uncomfortable - that wouldn't be true, as if you have been out of balance for a while or had a serious injury, there will be some discomfort in those area due to tightness and inflammation. What it does mean, is that on the whole, the treatment will be more gentle than what you may have experienced and there will be no cracks, crunches or sudden movements.
and now is a great time to try Amatsu..
January also happens to be Amatsu Awareness month and this means that practitioners all over the country, myself included, are offering special opportunities for new and existing clients.
If you Tweet or post on Facebook about your Amatsu experiences using the hashtag #AmatsuAwareness and tagging me @LornaClansey and @AmatsuTherapyInt and I will give you £5 off your session in January. Please do this before your session to qualify!
Introduce a new client to me and they will be able to book 2 sessions in January for £110 instead of £140. As a thank you, you will receive £15 off your January session with me.
